Philippines is the 2nd largest archipelago in the world, with over 7100 tropical islands. The Philippines is one of the greatest treasures not only in SouthEast asia but of the world. The Philippines is not always on the itinery of world travellers but that is about to change with the recent inclusion of the “Underground River” in Palawan to the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.
Recently I travelled to Palawan to not only visit the Underground river but also do some snorkelling on the Honda Bay Island hopping tour. Here are some photos for your viewing pleasure.

The Philippines is a great place to visit not only in Palawan but also for a number of other natural wonders. A strong coral fringed islands across the western pacific. Below sea level, The Philippines is world re-knowned for being one of the worlds best diving and snorkeling locations, including wreck diving around Coron and swimming with whale sharks at Donsol. Above sea level you can see fantastic landscapes such as Chocolate Hills in Bohol, Banaue & the Rice Terraces, the perfect “breast like” shape of Mt Mayon and who could ever forget the crystal blue waters and white sandy beaches of Boracay.
Any globetrotter would share with you that it’s the friendly “filipino” (Philippine People) and their culture that makes the Philippines unique. Having a long history of both American and Spanish culture makes the Philippines an unforgetable place to visit and inevitably on the high list of people searching for a great place to retire.
The New 7 Wonders of Nature website describes the Puerto Princesa Underground River as reputedly the world’s longest underground river system, featuring an 8.2-kilometer navigable river through an impressive limestone landscape. It joins the Amazon in South America, Halong Bay in Vietnam, Iguazu Falls in Argentina and Brazil, Jeju Island in South Korea, Komodo in Indonesia, and Table Mountain in South Africa on the exclusive list after a two-year vote among 28 finalists that concluded last 11 November 2011.
As of October 2011, 196,959 foreign and local visitors have been tallied at the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park (PPSRNP) for the year, already more than the 172,827 visitors for the entire 2010.
Philippine economy setting up a new business
By · CommentsSetting up a New Business to Enhance the Philippine Economy
The Philippines is a country equipped with a good land to cultivate alongside plenty of resources and bright minds. They just have to be expressive on their thoughts to be able to contribute in solving today’s economic crises. Filipinos are aggressive in finding ways to enhance the Philippine Economy. This is the reason why some businessmen keep on looking for ways on how to help the economy by building several businesses and aiding the growing unemployment rate in the country. This country is very promising since it is a place where advancement, prosperity and growth are to be acquired, but only if people know how to use their knowledge and resources.
It is better to set up business in the Philippines because it is absolutely easier to cater to the request of the Filipino market than that of the international one which requires more quality product, good advertisements, state-of-the-art equipments and the like. In the Philippines, once you get their vote, they will keep on looking for more of your products all over the land. This is the reason why food stores and service shops like salons are being chosen by the people because of their service.
The fundamentals of the businesses in the Philippines are the same with that of other exporting countries. They will require time, effort, planning, and most especially, resources. The Philippine Economy will grow once business establishments will gain profit. Putting up a business is not as easy as slicing a piece of cake and sipping a coffee while watching your favorite late talk show. There are several things we have to consider which may affect the entire business. We must have asset, manpower, ideas, strategic location, possible sources of funds, and of course, the guts. We must also be ready for adversity because business is not always good. We may belong to those people who have established their names in the business industry or we may be those who will put a signage on the door with the message “Closed”. In order to fall into the first group, we must conduct first a feasibility study.
There are things that we have to consider the most in putting up a business in the Philippines. First is the capital. We cannot just make our own business and dream of having it big overnight. We must identify our main source of income, location, and good partners. Every option could be an advantage or disadvantage. What is important is for us to study properly and plan on how to run the business and maximize the use of resources and gain profits. Different businesses need appropriate sources of money. In the Philippines, it may be easy to set up business, but the challenging part is how to maintain and retain your business.
Any line of business will be successful if we know our market –which should be set up in a strategic location. We should also be aware if we are producing quality products and is catering service with a smile. Philippine Economy will expand if people will be knowledgeable enough on how to manage and keep the business. There are lots of requirements to accomplish and documentations to finalize before jumpstarting your business in the Philippines. You can browse over the internet for more details.
Philippine Economy Outsourcing in the Philippines
By · CommentsHow Outsourcing in the Philippines help the Philippine Economy to Grow
With a successful business equipped with bright minds and brilliant ideas from individuals who graduated from top notched schools plus leaders who have been in the industry for years, the Philippine Economy will surely be very progressive. That is the ideal setting, but unfortunately, this is not the reality. There are so many out-of-school youths you will often see on the streets, hanging out with their friends, instead of staying in school, studying and preparing for their future. Some are lucky enough to be given chance to finish their studies, but unfortunately they only end up in the list of thousands of unemployed graduates.
In the Philippines, since some businessmen don’t have enough money to pay for the benefits of their manpower, they are hiring seasonal workers for five months only. After five months, the service will be terminated and the worker will be looking for a new company wherein they can work for another five months. This has been the trend of the business because they want to get rid of paying for the benefits of the employee. However, it is indicated on the Labor Code that once an employee renders six months service, he should be automatically treated as a permanent employee and he should have the luxury to enjoy mandatory incentives like 13th month pay, bonuses, paid leaves, allowances and among others.
Currently, outsourcing has been the answer for most businessmen in addressing their problems with regard to manpower without spending too much money. They temporarily hire individuals and end their contracts after five months. The Philippine Economy is sometimes the reason why seasonal workers could not enjoy the privileges of being regular workers. Regular employees enjoyed paid leaves, health benefits and annual bonuses so they are lucky enough unlike those seasonal workers who do not get anything when their contracts get terminated.
Though regular employees enjoy benefits, it doesn’t mean that they are being given reasonable compensation. The salary of these workers is sometimes not enough to cover their daily expenses. For example, a father of five, who earns minimum daily wage, has to send his three children to school, buy milk for the baby, food for the family, pay for the rent and utility bills and spend money for his allowance when going to work. Apparently, his minimum wage is not enough for his daily expenses. This is the current status of the employment system in the Philippines.
Philippine Economy may be improved once foreign investors outsource services in the Philippines. Filipinos are very hard working and talented. Their skills are above average as compared to other Asian countries. Education is cheaper that is why most Filipinos are well-educated and well-versed using the English language so there wouldn’t be any hindrance between the foreign employer and the staff. Working relationships would be seamless and the company will be progressive since it will be able to save on labor costs. The country can still recover from its present status, if only every Filipino will cooperate in solving it. This is the reason why most Filipinos opt to work abroad and eventually help the country through their remittances. The local compensation is really not enough to feed a family and to send their children to school. This is one sad reality that the government has to address immediately and to focus on to be able to pull up the economy.
Philippine Economy Business Opportunities

The Philippine Economy has been competing for years and years now in order to rise up and cope up with today’s world market. Some Filipinos are left with no choices, but to work abroad and make a living because the economy is not stable and is currently experiencing crises. Unemployment complemented with overpopulation pulls down the rope and put the country’s name listed under the Third World Countries. Actually, progress of one’s country does not depend on the president or government alone. Every citizen must do his or her part to contribute to the development of their country.
The Philippines’ national currency is Peso. Its value is lower than those of other progressive countries. Economists say that peso represents the current status of the economy. But, with the help of remittances from the OFWs abroad, the country was able to successfully increase its peso value. Filipinos recognize now the value of pesos against the US dollar, Euro, Pound, Yen, Dinar and all other foreign currencies. Hence, the contribution of OFWs in the country’s economy is truly superlative.
In the Philippines, the most popular business to set-up is food business. You can never go wrong if you venture in food business because everybody needs it and will definitely look for food. Establishments are being built all over the Philippines most especially in strategic places. Food business definitely gives a boost to Philippine Economy because it generates incomparable income and the probability of gaining continuous profit is constant. Food establishments are being constructed near schools and offices where the demand for fast food is higher. For those who want to have their food served hot from the pot, there are fine dining restaurants that will cater to their requests.
In some places, the economy maybe at its lowest but for these four big cities, the business will have very slim chance of bankruptcy. Manila is one of the busiest business districts because of the volume of people who visits the city. Binondo and Quiapo are considered as ideal spots to set-up business. It is also good to invest in Makati, Mandaluyong and Ortigas Pasig areas; however, these three cities have limited line of businesses. They focus mainly in offering technological, telecommunication and aesthetic services since their markets mostly consist of elite and young professionals.
Philippine Economy can increase if only people know how to utilize their resources and how to strategically develop their community. Leaders must convey ideas to their subordinates and they must to be able to play their part in making their community transform into a place of wealth and progress. It is not that hard if people will only cooperate and will be willing to do their part as well. Philippine Economy will surely sky rocket if every Filipino will work together towards a common goal.
Philippine Tourism Travel Guides and Tips

Philippine Tourism is considered to be above average when compared to other Asian countries since our government is working harder to provide tourists and clients with state-of-the-art facilities, which are situated on the country’s top destinations in the islands and in the city as well.
Filipinos are very hospitable and they ensure that their guests enjoy their visits. Filipinos are high-spirited and good at welcoming visitors. Throughout the islands, there are festivities celebrated from time to time and external visitors always want to witness such events.
Each travel endpoint is worth a stay. Overseas residents are permitted to go to the country and tour for twenty-one days minus a visa providing that they are holding legal permits for their reappearance trip on their starting point or on their next travel target.
Travelling throughout the Philippines is not difficult, once you are amenable to riding the rickety transportation. There are different types of transportation for travellers and residents: aircrafts and ships for inter-island relocations; buses & cabs for pursuing the foremost metropolises in the Philippines; and the local jeepneys that can be seen anywhere in the city.
In Manila, contemporary trains called LRT are accessible on main streets. In pavements and narrower streets at minor municipalities, a tricycle is the choice of transportation. The Philippine Tourism keeps on finding useful innovations that will help travellers. This is one of the things that they want to pursue in the following years to come.
During travel, tourists should be very careful in choosing which food to eat. This is one of the most important things they have to look into because it involves health and wellness of the people. Addiionally, be careful in drinking water provided by cottage eateries especially if it came from the underground well. Not everybody can take non-purified water, so be careful in giving untreated water to your family.
Despite of the news and threats in terrorism n especially those areas in the south western parts, Philippines is still a good place to travel. The government is doing a great job at ensuring the safety and well being of its visitors. Also, they provided random checkpoints on target provinces to ensure the safety and security of the person living in those remote areas. This movement of the government increases the travel bookings that the country receives each year and with the help of Philippine Tourism, it will still increase each year.
